ABOUT RIDGERS

LISA RIDGERS was born in Shoreham-By-The-Sea on England's South Coast, and spent part of her childhood living on the quaint island of Majorca in the Mediterranean Sea.

For as long as she can remember, the passion to create has always been with her. And by the time she was thirteen years-old, Lisa was selling pencil sketch portraitures.

After finishing her education in the United Kingdom, Lisa came to the U.S. as a 'true-to-life Mary Poppins' English nanny and earned her B.S. Degree in finance. But switching from a financial career to a creative calling was “the best thing I ever did.”

Lisa developed her own unique style using acrylic paints together in a range of mediums and techniques that, by their very contradiction, create a harmonious, fresh look. Ridgers' multimedia works have been described as “a fusion of bold, organic palettes and natural elements,” with a wide variety of subject matter ranging from contemporary minimalist representations to vivid and earthy abstract landscapes.

The diversity found in nature and in different cultures forms Lisa's inspiration, and the shapes and contours of her surroundings are translated onto her canvas as colors, compositions and concepts. "If I can fuse the simplicity of our earth's gifts together with a contemporary twist," says Lisa, "I feel that I have created an abstract reflection of our world for others to enjoy."

When Lisa is not painting in her studio, she enjoys traveling, kayaking, watching movies, photography, and attending local galleries and art shows. After living twenty years in the U.S. and becoming a U.S. citizen, Lisa now splits her time between The U.S. and Spain.

She has had numerous solo and group exhibitions, and her work can be found in both corporate and private collections throughout Europe, Canada and the United States.
