ABOUT IORILLO

JEFF IORILLO is a California-based artist who works primarily in acrylic on canvas, as well as enamel on aluminum, mixed media and video.

Jeff is a "process artist" inspired by constant experimentation with his materials. This ongoing exploration leads to distinct bodies of work, with a consistent through line of a bold abstract approach investigating mass and momentum, color and gesture. His acrylic paintings often involve shifting layers of color and utilize a push/pull dragging technique to create rhythm and flow.

A graduate of Stanford University in Palo Alto, Iorillo also studied art history, architecture and classics in Florence, Italy. There, he became fluent in both the language and Italian fine art. He returned stateside to study painting at The San Francisco Art Institute.

In addition to several noteworthy domestic and foreign personal collections, Iorillo’s paintings are frequently used by set designers in television and film. He’s frequently shown in galleries throughout Southern California and at The Palm Springs Modernism Show. His works have also been selected by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) for their rental & sales gallery.

A native of Los Angeles, in 2015 he traveled to Japan for his first international museum show. His work has been selected for installation in commercial spaces from Mexico City to Boston to China and a new show in Naples, Italy. He is a Member of the Los Angeles Art Association and moderator of a monthly artists' critique group.
